Eric Karplus
started Science Wares as a sole proprietorship in Falmouth, MA in 1991 and became an S Corporation 12 years later. Science Wares, Inc. is still based in Falmouth, MA and has a growing team of individuals who are involved in the process of evaluating, designing, and deploying solutions for our customers. The company has provided custom equipment and services throughout the United States and in Canada, Europe, Asia, Australia, South America, and for the International Space Station.
Mr. Karplus has guided the company through work with private sector businesses ranging from early stage start-ups to well-established entities. In addition to having expertise working with emerging technologies, Science Wares has a breadth and depth of familiarity with grant writing and administration, having received several Small Business Innovation Awards including a Phase II award that resulted in development of a sensor technology that is presently being integrated into high resolution PET imaging systems for clinical and pre-clinical research as well as a breast-dedicated PET system.
Kristen Rathjen
Kristen Rathjen
joined the team in 2018 to assist with technical consulting and implementation of pilot projects. She holds a Master of Science degree in Marine Estuarine and Environmental Science from University of Maryland, College Park and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Southampton College of Long Island University. Kristen has worked with private firms, research institutions and government agencies to evaluate technologies, navigate regulatory pathways, and implement projects designed to improve ecosystems.
Who We Are
Over a dozen individuals are on-call for activities that require surge labor, and some of them contribute regularly to the completion of ongoing projects.
